Do you know what the majority of Americans represent today? They are not managing. They forgot the meaning of the verb “can”. Its connotation is different from “have to” or “might have to”. A capable American will manage to write his curriculum vitae or cover letter by himself. Not because he has to. Not because he will save money. He is simply capable of doing it.
This fact is not just relevant for the process of job hunting. It happens when you want to lose weight, quit smoking, or stop drinking. People who achieve all the above written – they just “can”. They don`t start dieting the next Monday. They don`t quit smoking the next month. Such people don`t stop drinking after a hangover in the morning. They do it right now. Success is hidden is several letters: can!
It makes no sense to say that my article will hardly change the thinking and attitude of people – the Americans, in particular. But you – who is searching in Google or Yahoo on “how to write a motivation letter” or “sample motivation letter” – may be triggered to do it by yourself.
