When I had to write my cover letter this last year, I was scared in the same way as many job seekers are. I decided to subscribe to a couple of websites and bought several books on the topic. I`ve searched the torrent sites, search engines, forums, and blogs with all due diligence. I had a single goal in mind – to find the key to the successful cover letter.
I am writing all that as I`m sure that the majority of job seekers have faced similar situations while they were changing their professional occupation.
I have downloaded a lecture and a seminar by Dan Kennedy. At the end of the lecture, he mentioned something that sounded as the following “most people purchase various audiocassettes, books, and CDs, which treat the issue of getting rich. However, they are too scared to start! You have to understand that no one will do it for you, even if you have the most thorough information on the question!”
I believe that fear is the exact reason as to why most job seekers, and people in general, do not make the first step!
People suffer from extremely low levels of motivation nowadays. Everybody looks for a quick way to get rich, lose weight, quit smoking, write a curriculum vitae and even a cover letter. Understand that action, rather than inaction, is essential! We are humans, and we learn from our mistakes. This is the good part of life!
