strenght 150x150 Analyze Your Strengths And Weaknesses In Writing Cover Letters As I already wrote in my previous article if the cover letter is a business plan, it must be perfect in order to attract the employer‘s attention.

For every business plan it’s mandatory that you use S.W.O.T analysis. Here it is in brief:SWOT Analysis Probably you’re already wondering how this financial method is going to help you in the writing of a cover letter?

I’ll tell you how it helped me. Then you’ll understand too. You have to define your strengths and weaknesses.

I did the following. I took a blank sheet and a pen. I divided the sheet into two columns. I wrote “Pluses (Strengths)” as a heading of the first column. On the top of the second column I put down: “Minuses (Weaknesses)”.

In the first column I asked the following questions: “What are the most successful day, week, month, year in my current job? Why it’s the most successful? How did I manage to do it? What qualities and skills helped me in that?”

Of course the list can be added and corrected.

In the right column I wrote the same questions but in negative form. “What are the most unsuccessful day, week, month, year in my career until now?” And I filled in the other questions the same way, but in negative form.

After I drafted my strengths and weaknesses, I already had the text for my cover letter. It was only left to see what are the employer’s requirements in the job ad and it was ready! I only had to select those of my qualities and skills that would lead me to an interview.
