One Anti-Social Post about the Americans

By One Of you

Undecided American I’m not sure if I have to get mad or simply start laughing. It’s more than a year since I began writing here. The idea was more than clear: this had to be the place where all jobseekers could find an inspiration for their cover letters. And then – they would give it a try, and write the letter by themselves.

After twelve months of writing (I was forcing myself sometimes, but I was motivated to write at all other times), I got to know that many Americans act in a cattle-like fashion. They need a shepherd to lead them. They are in the need of a good owner to feed, milk, and take care of them. And – a sharp knife when they are good for a beefsteak. These grimy thoughts are the fruit of several facts. On the first place, many friends and acquaintances had promised to give me a hand and support the blog. A few of them actually did it. This makes me think of deleting some phone numbers from my cell.

I got to know that most Americans love to pay for just about anything. In this way, they probably diminish their inferiority complexes or show superiority over the rest of the world – you’ll judge it on your own. Few of them are incapable, but many are lazy. One of these American blocks would prefer to write nonsense in Twitter for half an hour or watch the last numbskull in Youtube, rather than sit down and see if he can write his resume or cover letter.

One out of five Americans follows the fashion trend of the day. My neighbor has an iPod, so I have to buy one as well. My colleague Angela got blond, and I gotta dye my hair too. John paid 100 bucks for his resume – I’ll pay $200. I’m nothing less than him, right?

My head is full of grimy thoughts today. This is not a good finish for an article. That’s why, I’ll tell you a story. I know it from my father, and he – from his father. The story is called “The Two Wolves in Us“.

An old Cherokee told his grandson about the battle that’s fought inside all people He explained the boy that two wolves fought against each other in our souls. One of them is evil – he stands for the greed, discontent, envy, denial, arrogance, self-pity, feeling of low self-worth or superiority, false pride, and egocentrism. The other is good – he is happiness, peace, love, calmness, humility, hope, kindness of heart, togetherness, generosity, sincerity, compassion, and faith.

The grandson thought for a moment and asked his grandfather:

“Which of the wolves wins?”

“The one you feed” The old Cherokee responded.
