writers 300x199 Are Americans So Stupid That They Can’t Compose Their Own Cover Letters?(Part 2)Maybe a lot of you won’t agree with my opinion exposed in the first part of the article. What do famous scientists have to do with the composition of cover letters when it comes to writing? OK. As I’ve already said here the professional resume writers are nothing more than writers who have passed a course or any other kind of training on writing. I am sure that the second part of the list with famous Americans (writers) will strengthen your confidence in cover letters’ composition.

1. Edgar Allan Poe :
“He was an American poet, editor and author of short stories, most famous for his dark and morbid themes, although he also wrote some lesser known light-hearted works. Among his most famous and haunting works were “The Raven” (1845) and “The Tell-Tale Heart” (1843)… Poe’s works had a mixed, but largely negative, reception among literary circles during his life, but they were to have great influence on writers, particularly European writers, after his death. He remains one of the first American writers to be widely admired by European audiences, who in the 19th century had little respect for American literature…”
2. F. Scott Fitzgerald :
He was was an American writer who described the social climate of the 1920s, which he called “The Jazz Age.” His most famous works are The Great Gatsby (1925) and Tender Is the Night (1934), engaged upon by Fitzgerald as a “study of the rich.”..
3. Mark Twain :
“He was a great American writer and humorist. On his death, the New York Times wrote that “his personality and his humor have been an integral part of American life for so long that it has seemed almost impossible to realize an America without him”… Mark Twain was famous as both a writer and a performer, having toured many years as a comedic lecturer. His cynical witticisms earned him a reputation as one of America’s foremost personalities…”
4. John Steinbeck :
“He was an American author. He wrote the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath (1939), along with fifteen other novels, six non-fiction books and several collections of short stories. In 1962 Steinbeck received the Nobel Prize for Literature…”
5. Ernest Hemingway :
“He won a Nobel Prize for literature in 1954…Hemingway influenced American literature. He helped popularize a style of writing that featured plain language, short sentences, and clean, sparse prose. His writing frequently focused on American expatriates living in Europe or Africa…”
6. Emily Dickinson :
“…By the time of her death, no more than seven Dickinson poems had been published, but her legacy of 1776 poems eventually brought the full extent of her work to the world. Today, Dickinson is not only considered one of the most accessible poets of all time but one of the most best…”
7. Herman Melville :
“He was an American writer. His masterpiece was Moby-Dick, which was considered to be a failure until it was recognized long after Melville’s death to be a literary masterpiece…”
I don’t believe that those people’s works have been written by somebody else. Nor do I believe that they were stupid Americans. Then why do you think that you can’t write your cover letter on your own after you’re their descendant?
