John Carlton, a famous copywriter shares that the good story has to be written by hand. Because you are writing with your heart this way. Then you give chance to your words to come out unchanged. Feelings prevail over your mind. You can be 100 percent yourself.
You will read something real today. The words I had to write a long time ago. I am about to quit my job. This decision involved stress and took lots of time. I had enough. It is time to open a new page. Not in a month. In a year. The moment has come. Now.
I don’t know what reasons would make you quit your job. I will tell you about mine. And I hope I will feel better.
When I started coming to work, feeling aversion to what I did, I realized. It is time for a change. I am not talking about a new haircut or dressing style. That’s right. It is time to say ‘enough’, and ‘that is all from my side’. And I assure you. I felt great.
On the second place, I would point the relationship with my colleagues. Many people don’t realize it, but we spend half of the day at the workplace. And when reluctance comes hand in hand with colleagues who are past endurance, the result is a poisonous cocktail. A cocktail that you won’t find particularly pleasant, I assure you.
I put up with that for a long time. I tried not to pay attention. I made an effort to understand them. I was saying to myself ‘they will change’. I didn’t want to quit because of the money. Until now. I will never make deals with myself again.
One ancient Greek philosopher has written that man has to find a job he loves. Then he won’t have to work his whole life. I realized I didn’t like my present job. And if I stayed, I had to work. My whole life.
The other thing that made me quit was a couple of words. Words, the sounding of which I had forgotten. ‘Good job’, ‘well done’, ‘bravo’. Before, I didn’t believe they could make you work overtime and leave your personal life in the background. Because not everything is money.
So, that was about the bad part. After all, I wrote I was turning a new page. I will tell you a story. It makes me smile… Every time.
Once upon a time, a group of small frogs lived… One day, the small frogs organized a flat race. The goal was to climb up to the top of a very tall tower.
A large crowd gathered around the tower to watch the race and applaud the participants.
The race began. No one in the crowd wholeheartedly believed that the small, weak frogs would reach the top of the tower.
Some were heard saying….
‘The route is so difficult!’
‘They will NEVER reach the top.’
‘There is no way they reach the top. The tower is so tall’.
The small, weak frogs started growing weaker.
One after another. Except for those who were climbing up at a brisk pace.
The crowd continued shouting.
‘It is so difficult!!! No one will make it’.
‘More and more frogs grew weaker and gave up…
…But ONE was going up, and up, and up…
It was not giving up!
At the end, all frogs gave up climbing the tower.
Except for that small frog which, after making every endeavor, was the only one to reach the top!
THEN all other frogs naturally wanted to know how this frog managed to make it.
One of the participants asked the little frog how it, the winner found the strength to reach the top.
It turned out that the Winner was deaf.
What is the lesson here…
Never listen to negative and pessimistic opinions others hold, ignore them because they will widen the distance between You and Your most beautiful dreams.
The ones you carry in your heart!
Always think of the power that words have.
Because everything you read influences you actions!
Hence… Be ALWAYS … POSITIVE.
And most important…
Be DEAF when people tell YOU that YOU cannot make your dreams come true!
Sincerely yours,
One ‘deaf’ job seeker.
